Courses and trainings

Tour manager 

Second-year students have an opportunity to attend a tour manager course. The skills and qualifications gained during the course help participants find attractive employment in travel agencies, e.g. at their work placement. Not only does the course enhance students' qualifications and employability but for many it provides a chance to combine passion for travel with a satisfying career. During the course students learn how to design and implement tourist packages, how to communicate effectively, manage a group, resolve conflicts and deal with crises.

School trip manager

The University College of Tourism and Ecology offers its second-year students a course to become a school trip manager. The skills and qualifications gained during the course will help participants find attractive employment both during the school year and summer holiday. The course is ideal for those who like working with children and wish to gain additional qualifications.

Youth camp leader

This course is available for students who have completed at least two semesters. It provides students with the opportunity to spend their holiday working with children at summer and winter camps. During the course the participants learn basic principles of group psychology, effective communication and how to organize leisure time for children and teenagers.

Advertising agent

This course is available for students who have completed at least two semesters. The course is designed to teach the participants how to present the advertised product effectively and how to create a good advertisement, putting the students' own ideas into practice. The skills and qualifications gained during the course will help students find work in various advertising agencies.

Sport Manager 

The course provides students with an expansive view of various areas connected to sport, such as  pedagogy, physiology, psychology, theory of sport, sports medicine, etc. The participants will also learn about legal regulations concerning sport, organization of sporting events and mass event safety.

Canoeing instructor 

The objective of the course is to teach students the basics of mountain canoeing: the safety principles,  techniques of operating a one-person kayak, necessary equipment, rescue procedures in mountain rivers. 

The course includes a theoretical part and a practical part.

The theoretical part consists of lectures on: swimming techniques, kayak equipment, rules for white-water canoeing, rescue techniques and first aid.

Ski instructor

This course is designed for advanced skiers, who wish to qualify as ski instructors. The aim of the course is to improve the students' skiing technique, with particular emphasis on the ski position and steering as well as to enhance skiing dynamics, taking into account the principles of safe skiing. The participants will also learn basic teaching techniques and a brief history of skiing.

Fitness instructor 

The fitness instructor course covers theory and practice. Students will gain knowledge on specific issues related to fitness. They will learn how to  prepare and conduct fitness classes, tailored to their participants. 

The course includes the following:

  1. A brief history of fitness,
  2. Music and how to use it during a fitness session,
  3. Basic, advanced and alternative fitness step routines,
  4. Basics of choreography,
  5. Teaching techniques,
  6. Types of fitness classes,
  7. Body position,
  8. Risk factors for injury occurring during fitness classes,
  9. Basics of anatomy,
  10. Step – basic step routines and choreography rules,
  11. Strengthening exercises,
  12. Modelling exercises,
  13. Cool down, stretching.

Language Courses and Certificates

At the University College of Tourism and Ecology students can participate in additional language courses (Russian, Spanish and Portuguese), language workshops, including the workshop on "English as the Language of Business" and a FCE preparation course.

The University is also an exam centre, authorized to verify the practical knowledge of English and French and to issue certifications recognized worldwide.
